Tapping Into Our Heritage

Since 1857, Klein Tools has been most known for our pliers. That's no secret. But since 2002, another Klein favorite has been bubbling towards the top – the Beverage Tool. Originally brewed as a promotional item, this handy [off the] jobsite tool is now one of the best-selling tools in the entire company! Thanks to the Beverage Tool's unexpected success, we realize there is an untapped market…

The 25 Year Club Grows

Do you remember what was happening back in 1990? 25 years ago?

Several major world events happened that year, including the demolition of the Berlin Wall, Nelson Mandela's release from prison, and the start of the Gulf War.

The first seasons of The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and Beverly Hills, 90210 ran in 1990. Milli Vanilli were stripped of their Best New Artist Grammy after it was discovered they did not actually sing the songs on their hit record. And the most complete skeleton of a T-Rex, named Sue, was discovered in South Dakota.

Thanks for the Recognition

It was a busy end to 2015/start of 2016 for us here at Klein Tools! If you hadn't noticed, we've launched a LOT of exciting new products in the last few months! As you can imagine, it's kept us pretty busy. So busy, in fact, that we are just now sitting down to all the great reviews and feedback we've received on these new tools.

AtoZ - A Tour of (Klein) Tools

336...no, that's not the number of days left in 2016. That's actually the number of pages in the current Klein Tools tool catalog. What does that mean? It means we manufacture and sell A LOT of different types of tools!

Many of them you are probably already aware of and (hopefully) have many of them in your tool bag. But with 3,000+ tools brandishing the Klein name, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn the other products we offer.

NYE Tradition Designed by Electrician

When a holiday tradition involves a giant ball lit with hundreds of lights slowly sliding down a giant pole at a specified time you KNOW an electrician probably had something to do with it…

Of course, I'm talking about the New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Times Square, and believe it or not, it was an electrician who came up with the whole ball drop idea!

History of Christmas Lights

We all know that Thomas Edison is credited with inventing the light bulb, but did you know he is also closely connected to the invention of the first Christmas lights?

2015 Lineman's Rodeo

We've been all about the electricians lately with the recent crowning of our 2015 Electrician of the Year, but we certainly haven't forgotten about our lineman brothers and sisters.

Linemen are a huge part of our heritage. Heck, we have a lineman climbing a pole as part of our logo - our "lineman logo." And the classic story of Mathias Klein, the founder, making the first pair of Klein pliers? Well, he made them for a telegraph lineman, of course.

Meet Our Electrician of the Year!

I don't have to tell you that there are many great electricians out there. This week, we got to recognize and reward one of the best.

Congratulations to Joey Hall – our 2015 Electrician of the Year!

Joey was revealed as our Electrician of the Year during a special Klein Tools event on October 5th. He was also rewarded with a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT Crew Cab truck customized by off-road specialists, Addictive Desert Designs.

It suits him well, don't you think?

As cool as this truck is, our search for the Electrician of the Year was about much more. We were on…

And the Finalists are...

With a custom truck on the line, it is no surprise that we were flooded with nominations for Klein Tools' Electrician of the Year.

But out of the nearly 600 nominations we received, six exceptional men emerged from the pack to become our regional finalists, one of which will go on to become our 2015 Electrician of the Year and win a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT Crew Cab customized by off-road specialists Addictive Desert Designs.

Klein Forging: 1857 to Now

Forging, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, is a verb that means: to form (as metal) by heating and hammering.

It's a process that has been part of Klein Tools' manufacturing since our founding in 1857.
